French Craftsmanship: Jean Dubost, a Fourth-Generation Family-Run Company, Manufactures the Highest-Quality Knives and Flatware
Jean Dubost, a fourth-generation family-run company established in 1920 in the south of France, designs, manufactures, and shapes artisan flatware and knives, respecting tradition and embracing innovative technology. Each Laguiole blade is forged from high-grade stainless steel and put through 25 stages of cutting, polishing, and sharpening by master cutlers, ensuring a difference in quality that can be seen and felt.
The Perfect Gift: Classic European Feel for the Modern-Day Kitchen
Each Jean Dubost implement is hand-polished and finished, making it the perfect gift for your loved ones' modern-day kitchens with a classic European feel. The Laguiole knife collection, inspired by a traditional peasant tool used for over 200 years, carries the mark of a bee for authenticity, originally part of Napoleon Bonaparte's imperial seal.
Explore the Laguiole Knife Collection: Steak Knives and New Age Knives
Laguiole Steak Knives: Crafted with mixed woods, stainless steel, or ivory ABS handles, these steak knives come in sets of 6 and are presented in a gift box or with a wooden block or storage tray.
New Age Steak Knives: Featuring an assorted linen ABS or black ABS handle, these sets of 4 or 6 steak knives offer a contemporary twist on the classic Laguiole design.
Authenticity: How to Distinguish a True Laguiole from a Counterfeit
Authentic, French-made Laguiole knives are stamped with the brand name, country of origin, and come with a certificate of authenticity. Counterfeits, on the other hand, are made outside of France, not stamped with the country of origin, and often made of low-end steel.
Maintenance and Care
Micro-serrated knives do not require sharpening and will retain a sharp cutting edge for the lifetime of the knife. Most Jean Dubost products are dishwasher safe, but hand washing is recommended to extend the life of the product. Pieces with wood handles or brass accents are not dishwasher safe.
