Most Jean Dubost products, apart from those with natural wood handles or brass detailing, are dishwasher safe. However, hand washing is recommended to extend the life of the product. Authentic, French-made Laguiole knives are stamped with the brand name and country of origin, and come with a certificate of authenticity. Counterfeits are made outside of France, not stamped with the country of origin, and often made of low-end steel.
