How do you distinguish an authentic Laguiole from a counterfeit? Authentic, French-made Laguiole knives are stamped with the brand name/country of origin and come with a certificate of authenticity. Counterfeits are made outside of France, not stamped with its country of origin, and often made of low-end steel.
Do micro-serrated knives require sharpening? Micro-serrated knives do not require sharpening and will retain a sharp cutting edge for the lifetime of the knife.
Are all Jean Debost products dishwasher safe? Most Jean Dubost products are dishwasher safe, however hand washing is recommended to extend the life of the product. Pieces with wood handles or brass accents are not dishwasher safe.

CHEESE KNIFE Slice cheese in style with this cheese knife from Jean Dubost. With an ivory ABS handle and brass detailing, it’s easy to grip and adds a classic European feel to your cheese plate.
STAINLESS STEEL BLADES The blade, made of high-grade stainless steel, is stamped, ground, and polished by master cutlers in over 25 different production stages. Then, they rivet their handles onto the grip, giving each knife its own character.
THE LAGUIOLE LEGEND Inspired by a traditional peasant tool, the Laguiole knife has been used for over 200 years. Now expanded to cutlery, each piece carries the mark of a bee for authenticity, originally part of Napoleon Bonaparte's imperial seal.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS We recommend washing your cutlery gently by hand under running hot water and wiping it off immediately after. However, most products—apart from those with natural wood handles or brass detailing—are dishwasher safe.
MADE IN FRANCE Established in 1920 in the south of France, Jean Dubost is a fourth-generation, family-run company that designs, manufactures, and shapes artisan flatware and knives for a difference in quality you can see and feel.
